Privacy Policy
At WeekForward, your privacy is not just a policy—it’s a fundamental principle. This document explains our simple approach: we don’t collect, store, or process any of your personal data.
The Simple Truth
Your reminders stay in your iCloud account, where they belong.
WeekForward accesses Apple Reminders through the EventKit framework. All reminder information remains stored in your personal iCloud account and is processed entirely on your device. We never transfer your data to our servers or any third-party services.
1.0 Permissions We Request
WeekForward requires the following permissions to function:
1.1 Reminders Access
- Purpose: To read, create, update, and delete your reminders
- Scope: Full access to your Apple Reminders data
- Storage: All data stays in your iCloud account
- Required: Yes, the app cannot function without this permission
1.2 Notifications Access
- Purpose: To send you alerts and daily/overdue summaries
- Scope: Local notifications only
- Storage: Notification preferences stored locally on your device
- Required: No, but recommended for best experience
2.0 What We Don’t Collect
WeekForward does NOT collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
- Usage analytics or app behavior data
- Device information or identifiers
- Location data
- Crash reports or diagnostics
- Reminder content or metadata
- Any other personal information
We literally have no servers or databases that store user data.
3.0 How Your Data is Stored
All your reminder data is stored in Apple’s iCloud infrastructure. WeekForward:
- Reads reminders from your iCloud account when you open the app
- Saves changes directly to your iCloud account
- Never copies or caches your data on external servers
- Never shares your data with third parties
Your data security depends on:
- Apple’s iCloud encryption and security measures
- Your device’s passcode and biometric authentication
- iOS’s built-in privacy protections
4.0 Your Rights and Controls
You have complete control over your data:
4.1 Data Access
Your reminders are accessible through:
- The native Reminders app on any Apple device
- iCloud.com on any web browser
- Any other app with Reminders access you authorize
4.2 Permission Management
You can revoke WeekForward’s access at any time:
- Open iOS Settings
- Go to Privacy & Security → Reminders
- Toggle off WeekForward
4.3 Data Deletion
To completely remove your data:
- Delete WeekForward from your device (your reminders remain in iCloud)
- Or delete reminders directly from Apple’s Reminders app
- Or delete your iCloud account entirely
5.0 Third-Party Services
WeekForward does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data processors.
The only “third party” involved is Apple, which provides:
- iCloud storage for your reminders
- EventKit framework for accessing reminders
- Push notification infrastructure
These are governed by Apple’s own privacy policies, which you can review at apple.com/legal/privacy.
6.0 Children’s Privacy
WeekForward complies with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act). Since we don’t collect any personal information from users of any age, the app is safe for children to use. However, we recommend parental supervision for users under 13.
7.0 International Users
WeekForward complies with:
- GDPR (EU): No personal data collection means no GDPR obligations
- CCPA (California): No data sale or sharing because we don’t collect data
- Other Regulations: Our zero-data-collection approach satisfies most privacy laws worldwide
8.0 Changes to This Policy
If we ever change our privacy practices (which is unlikely given our zero-collection approach), we will:
- Update this page with the new policy
- Change the “Last Updated” date at the top
- Notify users through the app if changes are material
9.0 Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or WeekForward’s privacy practices:
Email: hi@weekforward.com Response Time: 24-48 hours
We’re committed to transparency and will gladly answer any questions about how we protect your privacy.
Bottom Line: WeekForward was built with privacy as a core principle. Your reminders are yours, stored in your iCloud account, and never leave Apple’s ecosystem. We believe powerful productivity tools shouldn’t come at the cost of your privacy.
