Welcome to WeekForward. By downloading, installing, or using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1.0 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WeekForward (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2.0 Description of Service
WeekForward is an iOS application that provides:
- Three view modes (Carousel, Compact, Calendar) for visualizing your weekly tasks
- Integration with Apple’s Reminders app via EventKit framework
- Local notifications for task reminders and summaries
- Task organization and management features
- Natural language date parsing
The App syncs with your personal iCloud account through Apple’s infrastructure. WeekForward operates as a client application for Apple Reminders data.
3.0 User Requirements
To use WeekForward, you must:
- Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
- Have a compatible iOS device running iOS 17.0 or later
- Have an active Apple ID and iCloud account
- Grant the App permission to access Apple Reminders
- Comply with Apple’s Terms of Service for iCloud and Reminders
4.0 License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the App on iOS devices you own or control
- Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes
You may NOT:
- Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the App
- Distribute, sell, or sublicense the App
- Use the App for illegal or unauthorized purposes
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its systems
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices from the App
5.0 Apple Integration
WeekForward integrates with Apple’s Reminders app. Important points:
5.1 Data Storage
- Your reminder data is stored in your personal iCloud account, managed by Apple
- WeekForward does not own, control, or have independent access to this data
- Apple’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern iCloud data storage
5.2 Functionality Dependence
- The App’s functionality depends on Apple’s EventKit framework and iCloud services
- We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access if Apple modifies their APIs or services
- Changes to Apple’s systems may affect the App’s features or availability
5.3 Separate Agreement
- Your use of iCloud and Apple Reminders is governed by Apple’s separate terms
- We are not responsible for Apple’s services or policies
6.0 User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your iOS device and Apple ID
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Backing up your reminder data (via iCloud or other means)
- Ensuring your use complies with applicable laws
- Any consequences of granting Reminders access to WeekForward
7.0 Privacy and Data
7.1 Data Collection
WeekForward does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to external servers. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
7.2 Local Processing
All reminder data processing occurs locally on your device. We have no servers that store user information.
7.3 Notifications
Local notifications are generated on your device based on your reminder due dates and settings. No notification data is transmitted to external servers.
8.0 Intellectual Property
8.1 Ownership
WeekForward, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is owned by Gökhan Arkan and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
8.2 User Content
- You retain all rights to reminder content you create
- Your reminders are stored in your iCloud account under Apple’s terms
- We claim no ownership of your reminder data
8.3 Trademarks
WeekForward and its logo are trademarks. You may not use these without prior written permission.
9.0 Disclaimers and Warranties
9.1 “As Is” Service
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of content
9.2 No Guarantee of Service
We do not guarantee:
- Continuous, uninterrupted access to the App
- That the App will be free from bugs or errors
- That your data will never be lost (always maintain backups via iCloud)
- Compatibility with future iOS versions or devices
10.0 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
10.1 No Liability for Damages
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including:
- Loss of data or reminders
- Loss of profits or business opportunities
- Service interruptions or delays
- Damages from unauthorized access to your device
10.2 Maximum Liability
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (currently $0, as the App is free).
10.3 Jurisdictional Limitations
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.
11.0 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WeekForward and Gökhan Arkan from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your violation of applicable laws
12.0 Third-Party Services
12.1 Apple Services
The App relies on Apple’s services (iCloud, EventKit, Push Notifications). We are not responsible for:
- Changes to Apple’s APIs or services
- Interruptions in Apple’s services
- Apple’s terms, policies, or pricing
12.2 No Other Third Parties
WeekForward does not integrate with any other third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
13.0 App Updates
13.1 Updates and Changes
We may update the App to:
- Add new features or functionality
- Fix bugs or improve performance
- Maintain compatibility with new iOS versions
- Comply with legal requirements
13.2 No Obligation
We are not obligated to provide updates, but we strive to maintain and improve the App.
13.3 Automatic Updates
If you enable automatic updates in iOS, the App will update automatically. You can disable this in your device settings.
14.0 Termination
14.1 Your Right to Terminate
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.
14.2 Our Right to Terminate
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Misuse the App in ways that could harm us or other users
14.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your license to use the App ends immediately
- Your reminder data remains in your iCloud account (controlled by Apple)
- These Terms continue to apply to your prior use of the App
15.0 Changes to Terms
15.1 Modifications
We may modify these Terms at any time by:
- Posting updated Terms in the App or on our website
- Changing the “Last Updated” date at the top
15.2 Your Acceptance
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of new Terms. If you don’t agree with changes, stop using the App.
15.3 Material Changes
For material changes, we will provide notice through the App or via email (if we have your contact information).
16.0 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of London, United Kingdom.
17.0 Dispute Resolution
17.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing any formal claim, please contact us at hi@weekforward.com to attempt informal resolution.
17.2 Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, disputes may be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with Danish law.
17.3 Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class actions.
18.0 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
19.0 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and WeekForward regarding the App.
20.0 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
21.0 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign these Terms to any successor or affiliated entity.
